Improving the Learning and Development Outcomes for Children
Early Years Foundation Stage Framework:
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum would be used in the new setting to help the carers when working with the children. It will be followed and used in many ways just as it is at the present setting, Firstly, when making observations of the children’s progress, the EYFS will be used to help establish the stage a particular child is at. This will be achieved by looking up the development matters under the different ages. This will show whether they have reached the milestone for their age or whether we need to provide extra activities to help them develop further in this area. Secondly, the EYFS will be used for suggestions for future plans and resources to help the children move forward in their development. This knowledge can be gained from the principle cards and from planning and resource suggestion within this document. Thirdly, the EYFS will be used to help the carers when writing up the children’s profiles and compiling their scrap books. These two important pieces of work will be shared with the children’s parents and families, so they need to see the right terminology is being used. This will give confidence to the carers as well as to the parents. There will be lots of evidence within these two pieces of work to show how we are covering the 5 Every Child Matter Outcomes and how the children are progressing in their development.
“Every Child Matters” Outcomes
The table below show how we intend to cover all 5 Every Child matter Outcome for all the children:
